1975 – TRADITION GIVES A FUTURE

How a Würzburg backyard workshop becomes a top address for classic car fans from all over the world. Helmut Feierabend and his colleagues were self-taught who taught themselves a lot.

When looking for a new domicile in Würzburg, they only found what they were looking for in Paradiesstrasse, where they moved into basement rooms that were not very representative but sufficiently large.

In 1975, Helmut Feierabend finally dared to build his own workshop. In Wilhelm-Wien-Straße he built the spacious, modern building in which the company is still based today after several extensions.

1967 – WHEN ARRIVING IS THE GOAL

After the restoration of his first Fiat Balilla in the early 1960s, Helmut Feierabend presented the results of his work at numerous classic car meetings. Even then, he was convinced that the historic vehicles should be more than just exhibits.

Its original purpose was to drive and it should be again after the restoration. “The cars,” said Helmut Feierabend very clearly, “were built to drive!”

1962 – THE PASSION IS REWARNED

How a small, battered Fiat changed the life of Helmut Feierabend.

Late 1950s, rock ‘n’ roll, petticoat, sputnik shock – and the economic miracle. “You can have my Balilla for 400 marks, I’m going abroad.” That’s where it all started. After an accident, a student left the vehicle: Helmut Feierabend.

For a man like Helmut Feierabend, who as a blacksmith was professionally involved in the loving and technically perfect restoration of old things, it was clear from the start that he wanted to restore his new acquisition to its original technical and visual condition.
